Statement of Faith

We believe in

The divine inspiration and infallibility of Holy Scripture as originally given, its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct, and the need of the teaching of the Holy Spirit to a true and spiritual understanding of it.

The unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead.

The sovereignty of God in Creation, Providence, Revelation, Redemption and Final Judgement.

The universal sinfulness and guilt of human nature since the Fall rendering man subject to God’s righteous anger and condemnation.

Redemption from the guilt, penalty and power of sin through the sacrificial death (as our Representative and Substitute) of Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Son of God.

The Justification of the sinner freely by grace through faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; His virgin birth; His sinless life; His vicarious death; His bodily resurrection from the dead; His ascension to heaven to be our mediator and the certainty of His visible and personal return with great glory.

The necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit to make the death of Christ effective to the individual sinner granting him repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ, and giving new spiritual birth (regeneration).

The indwelling and work of the Holy Spirit in all His fullness in the believer to make him more like the Lord Jesus Christ, equipping him with spiritual gifts for service and enabling him to worship aright.

The resurrection of the body, the judgement of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ and the eternal blessedness in heaven of the redeemed and the eternal punishment in hell of the unbelieving.

The priesthood of all the believers who form the one holy universal Church, the body of which Christ is the head.

Each ‘local church’ as an autonomous ‘gathered community’ of regenerate believers living in fellowship with all other believers within the body of Christ; each local church having liberty under the guidance of the Holy Spirit to interpret and administer the Word of God.
